This magnificent residence on the North Terrace, Adelaide was built circa 1881 and is the last free-standing home of its era.
We were approached by the owner to construct a whopping 5-story extension to the rear of this iconic building. The extension stands at over 18 metres high and boasts Alucobond and glass doors for the exterior finish, making this architecturally designed building stand out from the crowd. The first floor consists of a car stacker, plunge pool and main laundry. Take the elevator or the architectural staircase to enter the next levels, it’s your choice, but wait until you find out what’s to come on the upper levels…
The project definitely had its difficulties with very limited access requiring cranes and machinery to complete various aspects of the project. That being said, the project was completed on time and on budget. The extension consists of 5 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 living areas, a study and 2 bars. It is an absolute entertainer’s delight, having a rooftop terrace with amazing views across the CBD complete with an outdoor kitchen/bar area.
It is very rare for a builder to be privileged enough to build an amazing structure like this one, for an amazing customer, but our entire team managed to pull off yet another remarkable home extension.
